  10.   MacSEE is a utility that will allow you to read/write Macintosh format
  11. diskettes on your PC. This includes 1.44 MB High Density Macintosh
  12. diskettes and Macintosh hard disks including SyQuest removable hard drives
  13. formatted on a Mac. It does not include 800K Mac disks as a standard PC
  14. floppy drive can't make heads or tails of what is written on those
  15. disks.
  16.   Please note that this unregistered version 2.2 is being released into
  17. Shareware as a demonstration version. It adds bug fixes and features
  18. to version 2.1 (also shareware) and may be freely distributed provided that
  19. all files included remain intact and unmodified.
  20.   If you find this utility of use to you then you are required to either:

  22.    1) Register this package with REEVEsoft by sending a $35.00
  23.       registration fee to us at the above address. In return you will
  24.       receive the registered version of this product along with
  25.       some of our other shareware programs.

  27.    2) or purchase the commercial version 3.0 of MacSEE which includes
  28.       complete file management functions such as rename, delete,
  29.       create folder, and format disk. MacSEE 3.0 also offers more
  30.       comprehensive file translation modes and product support. The
  31.       commercial version retails for $79.95 and it available NOW.
  32.       Order by sending a check, money order, or call for CODs.

  34.   If you do not find MacSEE to be useful then please remove it from
  35. your system.

  37. Using MacSEE for DOS -
  38.   After loading MacSEE you will be presented by a title screen notifying
  39. you about registration requirements. Press any key as you read this
  40. information. Once completed any drives that can support Mac disks
  41. (including hard drives with Mac disks present) will be available. Selections
  42. of drives and folders are made with the arrow keys and RETURN or ENTER to
  43. indicate that the selected item is correct.
  44.   Mac files will be listed in the left window and PC files will be
  45. listed in the right window. To transfer a file from one side to the
  46. other just highlight that file (use the arrow keys to navigate through
  47. all the files) and press ENTER or RETURN. Depending upon the direction
  48. you are transferring the file a translation file will be created and then
  49. the file will be copied to the other side (or vice versa).
  50.   When tranferring a file an intermediate file is created for translation
  51. purposes. It is therefore necessary to have enough disk space available
  52. in the hard disk directory MacSEE was loaded from to support this
  53. translation file.
  54.   Translation modes are selected by pressing T for Translation. This
  55. Shareware version only supports 2 modes of translation. MacBinary II and
  56. Data. MacBinary II is used to keep Mac pertinent information intact
  57. within the file (use it if you obtain a file from an on-line
  58. service while using a PC and then you want to transfer it to a
  59. Mac disk to use), or data (use this if you want the file to make some
  60. degree of sense on the PC side of things...e.g. pictures, audio files...etc).

  62. Note: In order to perform file translation an intermediate file is
  63.  created in the directory that MacSEE was loaded from. Consequently,
  64.  when transferring a file from the Macintosh to the PC you need
  65.  roughly double the size of the file worth of free space on your hard
  66.  disk.

  68. Using MacSEE for Windows -
  69.   After loading MacSEE, you will be presented by a title screen notifying
  70. you about registration requirements. Click on Agree or OK as you read this
  71. information and once completed any drives that can support Mac disks
  72. (including hard drives with Mac disks present) will be available. Selections
  73. of drives and folders are made by clicking on them with the mouse cursor.
  74. Double-clicking will open volumes, directories, and take you to previous
  75. directories.
  76.   Mac files will be listed in the left window and PC files will be
  77. listed in the right window. To transfer a file from one side to the
  78. other just highlight that file (use the arrow keys to navigate through
  79. all the files) and click >> Copy >> to transfer to the PC or << Copy << to
  80. transfer to the Macintosh (note the arrows are used as directional
  81. indicators).
  82.   Translation modes are selected by clicking on the down arrow to
  83. the right of the ComboBox above the Quit button. This
  84. shareware version only supports 2 modes of translation. MacBinary II and
  85. Data. MacBinary II is used to keep Mac pertinent information intact
  86. within the file (use it if you obtain a file from an on-line
  87. service while using a PC and then you want to transfer it to a
  88. Mac disk to use), or data (use this if you want the file to make some

  91. Disclaimer -
  92.   Reading from Mac disks shouldn't cause any problems, but writing is
  93. a bit different. We've emulated how a Mac writes to a Mac disk as closely
  94. as possible in this shareware version. Please note that we take no
  95. responsibility in the event of something going awry while using this
  96. software. This is part of the cause for releasing a commercial version of
  97. this program. This will hopefully give us the financial means to support
  98. this software and keep our customers informed of new upgrades. There will
  99. be no upgrades to this shareware version, so if you like it then please
  100. consider MacSEE 3.0.

  103.   As indicated MacSEE 3.0 (a commercial version of MacSEE) is now available.
  104. It retails for $79.95. If you've already registered a copy of MacSEE OR
  105. own another Mac to DOS transfer utility then please contact us about special
  106. upgrade pricing. MacSEE 3.0 supports file deletion, renaming, creating
  107. folders, and formatting Mac disks. It supports more file translation modes
  108. including Text and MacPaint<->PCX and it fixes some of the limitations set
  109. within the Shareware versions of MacSEE. Included are both DOS and Windows
